High five your health care provider – March 24, 2017

This week's high fives go to our amazing people at Abbotsford Regional Hospital, Langley Memorial Hospital, Royal Columbian Hospital, Surrey Memorial Hospital and in our Treasury Department. Want to send a high five to your health care provider or Fraser Health team member? Leave a comment below or email feedback@fraserhealth.ca

Thank you for keeping the Abbotsford Regional Hospital clean. Thank you to staff for being helpful. As a business owner I have come to hospital often and the staff have always been helpful with locating the rooms our staff members are in. Bigggggggg thanks!!!!

Our son was born June 30, 2013, 5 weeks premature and IUGR (Intrauterine Growth Restriction). He spent a bit of time in the Royal Columbian Hospital NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) and one nurse in particular, Clare, made a difficult time bearable. I still remember how lovely she was. Hope this message of thanks can be passed to her if she still works there. We now have a two year old daughter named Claire - the name was always my favorite and I remember telling Clare in the NICU if I ever had a daughter her name would be Claire (the French way) :)

My purpose in writing this message is to thank Doctor Altman for his kind understanding and good care.

I had been in emergency, at the Langley Memorial Hospital, on March 14th, 2017.  I probably arrived at about 12:30 a.m. or thereabouts. I was in a lot of discomfort both physically and emotionally.

Dr. Altman was very understanding when I expressed my situation and about my past.  He was kind to me and I know that I didn't make a very great impression!  I had been at the hospital all night and I saw him at about 6:00 a.m. Dr. Altman understood my need for privacy and my anxiety. He suggested that he could examine me after I had something to calm me down, and he also had me brought to a private room because he knew that I could handle that. Dr. Altman also expressed his sympathies when I shared with him about my past.

I have been thinking about finding an appropriate way to say thanks ever since. I also want to thank the nurses who were on duty at the time. They were also very nice to me.

I want to acknowledge Kerry Norman from the Treasury Department. I first contacted Kerry to set up pre-authorized payments for my mom's Home Support Services and recently to process final payments and receipts. Every contact with Kerry was pleasant, professional and compassionate. She provided great service! I appreciated Kerry very much for being so knowledgeable, informative and caring.
