Annette Garm

CARES Executive Leader

Antonina (Annette) Garm is Fraser Health's executive leader for the Community Actions and Resources Empowering Seniors (CARES) project. CARES uses a comprehensive geriatric assessment to identify seniors who are most at risk of frailty. Once a senior is aware of their risk, they are partnered with a free telephone health coach from Self-Management B.C. who help them develop healthy behaviours and access the resources they need to stay well and independent.

Annette holds two masters degrees, in liberal arts and nursing, as well as certification in gerontology, and she is a fellow from the Canadian Foundation for Health Care Improvement's Executive Training in Research Application (EXTRA) program.

She has taught at two universities in B.C. and is a member of Sigma Theta Tau. Annette also has multiple publications and presentations to her name and is currently a collaborator in several research projects.
