Dr. Ryan D’Arcy is a leading neuroscientist who is currently head of Health Sciences and Innovation at Fraser Health’s Surrey Memorial Hospital, as well as Surrey Memorial Hospital Foundation and Simon Fraser University’s BC Leadership Chair in Medical Technologies.
Prior to his role in Surrey, he’s been involved with several significant neuroscientific discoveries and inventions including NeuroTouch
, a three-dimensional, touch-sensitive brain simulation that enables surgeons to rehearse patient-specific virtual surgeries, and the Halifax Consciousness Scanner
(HCS), a portable device that can quickly determine neurological function.
From his Neuro Tech Lab at Surrey Memorial, Dr. D’Arcy is working to develop devices that can identify brain vital signs in order to monitor brain function, determine treatment and track brain recovery.
