Registered Clinical Social Worker, Chronic Pain Management

Julie Carlson is a registered clinical social worker with an interest in mind/body approaches to treating chronic pain and mental health issues. She strives to empower patients to use self-management approaches and enhance their existing health and strengths. Julie has a particular interest and extensive training in treating psychological trauma.

  • Co-principal Investigator in a study conducted through Fraser Health and the University of the Fraser Valley investigating the effects of stigma in women with concurrent disorders. 
  • Pilot study in progress on the use of yoga as a therapeutic intervention for patients with both Post Traumatic Stress Disorder symptoms and Chronic Pain.
